Growth, for us at LaSource, is not just about numbers, it’s about working with good people who push boundaries, challenge ideas, and bring fresh perspectives. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome Clément Laverdine, who ticked all our boxes and follows Simão into becoming the latest addition to our expanding team!
With a strong background in strategy consulting and a passion for sports, Clément joins us as a Senior Sports Business Consultant, bringing a sharp, analytical mindset and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. His experience spans high-level strategic projects, investment landscapes, and the fast-evolving world of technology and media, making him a perfect fit for our mission to drive impact across the sports ecosystem.
Embarking on his first professional experience within the sports industry, Clément sees LaSource as more than just a consulting firm but rather as an ambitious, evolving disruptor within the industry. As someone who thrives in building, structuring, and optimising, he’s stepping in at an exciting moment for us to help shape the next chapter in our growth.
Let’s get to know him!
Welcome to LaSource, Clément! Why did you decide to join us?
Thanks so much! I truly appreciate the warm welcome over the past couple of weeks. I've wanted to work in the sports industry for several years now, as it's a dynamic and fast-evolving space with so much happening. I was waiting for the right challenge, and when this opportunity at LaSource came along, I knew I had to take it.
I believe LaSource has a truly unique market positioning, both internally and externally. A dynamic international culture internally, with team members based in Spain, Belgium, and Paris and externally, through its ability to deliver great value to companies ranging from early-stage start-ups to the biggest leagues, clubs, and sports organisations.
Can you tell us a bit about your background?
I graduated from ESSEC in 2021, where I participated in the Sports Chaire programme and began building a network in the industry. I then started my career in strategy consulting, working at Altman Solon and Oliver Wyman on technology, media, and telecommunications topics. My experience includes conducting due diligence for investment funds and leading strategic projects for major corporations.
Now, I aim to leverage the problem-solving abilities and structured approach I have developed over the past four years to support LaSource in its development.
What excites you the most about LaSource? And what will be your main focus/objective at the company?
I'm excited that we're still in the early stages of this journey. LaSource has achieved a lot over the past five years, yet there are still things to build - both internally and externally, to support its growth while maintaining this unique team spirit.
My role at LaSource will focus on managing project delivery for sports organisations, helping tech companies define their go-to-market strategies, and ensuring seamless client relationships. Internally, I will help shape the consultancy practice by establishing new processes, sharing best practices, and expanding our commercial offering.
If LaSource had to be compared to one professional sports team? According to you, which one would it be and why?
I believe that LaSource can be compared to Racing Club de Lens. The club is known for its deep-rooted team spirit, humility, and hard-working mindset, qualities that also define LaSource.
Over the years, Lens has successfully rebuilt itself through strategic planning, smart investments, and a clear vision, returning to the top of French football. Similarly, LaSource is a forward-thinking consultancy that helps sports organisations and sports tech companies grow through well-structured strategies and innovative solutions.
RC Lens is deeply connected to its supporters and local identity, embodying a strong sense of belonging and authenticity. In the same way, LaSource is driven by its people first ‘approach’, evident through the strong relationships built within the sports industry, working closely with clients to provide tailored, hands-on support.
Lastly, which is your favourite sport and favourite athlete? Tell us why!
Football has always been my favourite sport, and I have played it for over twenty years. I grew up watching Zinedine Zidane on TV, and he quickly became my favourite player. He embodies elegance, intelligence, and leadership on the pitch, with technical mastery, vision, and composure that make him one of football’s greatest playmakers. He thrived under pressure, delivering iconic moments such as his stunning 2002 Champions League volley and his brace in the 1998 World Cup final. His mental strength and quiet charisma set him apart, while his dramatic exit in the 2006 World Cup final cemented his legendary status.
